Bioveta, a.s. has re-introduced the ALAPTID veterinary ointment to the veterinary market, which several years ago came to the attention of the general veterinary public thanks to its unique healing effect.

ALAPTID veterinary ointment significantly positively affects and shortens the healing process. The usual treatment time is 3 to 10 days!

The active substance alaptide is a spirocyclic synthetically prepared dipeptide, which has a very positive effect on physiological and regenerative processes in various skin conditions. It stimulates the growth of granulation tissue, accelerates the epithelialization process and the healing process. It is used for the treatment of minor skin and mucous membrane injuries, burns, abrasions, frostbite, bedsores, burns of dogs' paws from salt in the winter, etc. The usual duration of treatment ranges from 3 to 10 days, longer in chronic cases.

When the ointment is applied to intact skin, the penetration of alaptide is quantitatively zero. After direct administration into an open wound, alaptide penetrates into the blood and is subsequently distributed throughout the vascular bed. When it gets back into the capillaries, it begins to penetrate the surrounding tissues through diffusion and filtration. Its binding to plasma proteins is low, it is also resistant to the action of peptidases. Z 90 % is excreted unchanged by the kidneys. Neither local nor general toxicity was proven during its application, either experimentally or in clinical trials. The carcinogenic and teratogenic effect of alaptide has also not been proven, therefore it can be used in pregnant and lactating animals.

Clinical verification of ALAPTID veterinary ointment

The ALAPTID veterinary ointment was clinically tested on target animals. We present to you a summary of indications and experiences of practicing veterinarians who used ALAPTID veterinary ointment as part of field verification.

ALAPTID veterinary ointment was applied to minor skin and mucous membrane injuries, burns, abrasions, frostbite, bedsores. It has also been used with success in the treatment of chronic recurrent injuries, in the treatment of burned paws of dogs and cats from salt in the winter and in other cases listed below:

Clinical studies have confirmed that ALAPTID veterinary ointment has a highly healing effect. Before its use, all injuries were properly cleaned. The ointment was applied in a layer of 2 to 3 mm to the affected area, in some cases a bandage was used. Colleagues positively evaluated the easy application of the ointment. They were very satisfied with the accelerated course of wound healing. After the application of ALAPTID ointment, the wounds had a finely granular surface and a marked epithelization border. Thanks to its composition, ALAPTID prevented the dressing from adhering to the surface of the wounds, and the surface of the wounds was slightly moist throughout the application of the ointment. Therefore, there was no traumatization of the wounds and subsequent bleeding when changing the dressing and re-applying the ointment, as is the case, for example, with the use of concentrated hypermanganese, which is also used to promote granulation, but the wounds dry excessively after its application, and with each dressing, in most cases, heavy bleeding.

The actual healing time of wounds treated with ALAPTID veterinary ointment ranged from 3 to 10 days, longer in chronic cases.
