IRC-VET is a feed supplement based on quercitin, trans-resveratrol, artichoke extract, Omega 3, folic acid, aluminum hydroxide, vitamins B6 and B12 and potassium. This preparation acts as a cytoprotective agent in the kidneys, an anti-inflammatory agent and a chelating agent in the intestines, thus helping dogs and cats with chronic renal failure.

Oxidative stress damages the kidneys, induces pathophysiological processes in them and supports the progression of chronic renal failure. Quercitin, a flavonoid with strong antioxidant effects, reduces the inflammatory response and suppresses apoptosis of mesangial cells, thus protecting the nephrons - the basic units of the kidneys.

Trans-resveratrol is a polyphenol classified as a stilbene with many effects. In the kidneys, it acts as a cytoprotective agent, reducing glomerulosclerosis, proteinuria and systolic blood pressure through nitric oxide-mediated vasodilation. Folic acid and vitamins B6 and B12 are cofactors that help with vitamin deficiency, anemia and hyperhomocysteinemia - a risk factor for cardiovascular mortality.

Aluminum hydroxide acts as a chelating agent in the intestine. It binds phosphorus, thereby reducing its retention and subsequent hyperphosphatemia and secondary hyperparathyroidism. At the same time, it supports kidney function and reduces its mineralization, inflammation and fibrosis.

Artichoke extract is a hepatoprotective and digestive agent. It stimulates appetite, has an antiemetic, antispasmodic and biliary effect. The benefits of Omega 3 fatty acids are to protect the kidneys and lower plasma cholesterol levels. Together with potassium, it helps to regulate its level in the body, which is especially important for cats.
