Betadine (salt)

Betadine® skin solution is a disinfectant containing an active disinfectant element – iodine in the form of iodinated povidone. Thanks to its composition, it does not burn or cause necrosis of healthy tissue, and thus also promotes healing. The product is used for local disinfection of skin and mucous membranes, including disinfection of open wounds and pre-operative disinfection. The preparation is also intended for the treatment of bacterial and fungal diseases. Adults and children from 6 months of age can use the product.

Product composition

The active substance is povidone iodinatum 100 mg in 1 ml of aqueous solution (corresponds to 10% solution)

Other ingredients are: glycerol 85%, nonoxynol 9, citric acid, sodium hydrogen phosphate, purified water, sodium hydroxide solution (for pH adjustment).
