Description
HemaGel is a unique hydrophilic gel with the ability to absorb free oxygen radicals. It ensures the appropriate pH and moisture in the wound for healing and at the same time acts as a barrier against further infection. It is suitable for the treatment of acute and chronic wounds.
How to proceed when using the gel?
- 1. Clean the wound from mechanical impurities, e.g. dust particles, remnants of previous treatment materials, which could subsequently irritate and damage the wound
- 2. Open the tube by injection using the twist cap.
- 3. Apply a small amount of gel to the entire base of the wound. The gel adheres to the base of the wound and gradually absorbs secretions and other fluids from the wound.
- 4. Cover the wound with a sterile square preferably made of non-woven fabric and fix it with a bandage or patch. After applying the gel, cover minor injuries with a pad patch. Fixation materials must extend approx. 1 cm beyond the edge of the wound.
- 5. For indicated patients with a proven infection, it is necessary to follow the prescription of ATB and other medicines according to the doctor's decision.
- 6. Patients with an indication for compression therapy have the treatment supplemented with a bandage with a short-stretch bandage.
- 7. The effect of the gel is manifested by swelling. The unique technology of the gel prevents it from sticking to the wound and thus enables very easy removal without pain by gentle wiping.
- 8. Perform the dressing as needed after 24-48 hours. For infected wounds, we recommend more frequent changes.
